Ignore Step 1 And 2 If Your Vita Has Never Asked You To Update System Software


Steps:

Step 1
Hold Power Button On Vita System For 20 Seconds, Till A Menu Appears, Select Rebuild Database

Step 2
After Vita Restarts, Disconnect Internet From Both PC And Vita

Step 3
Connect Vita To PC With The Cable

Step 4
Launch QCMA On PC

Step 5
Launch Content Manager On Vita And Select Connect With USB Cable Option

Step 6
You Can Now Transfer Files From PC To Vita And Vita To PC Again

Interesting... I'd need something like this to be done within a game or something... I'm trying to get a note chart file for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva ƒ 2nd from the PSN but it's making me update to 3.30, of which I don't want to do. Could anyone with this game get me the note chart (Sharing the World... Editor: Alyssa221 PSN ID: AlyssaHoffee221)? I have the song DL'd and ready to send over to my Vita.

have u tried turning off wifi then rebuilding database, also do not let wifi be on after rebuilding database..................i have not tried or tested this yet, will look into it sometime later.

I don't see how that'd help me connect to the PSN but ok.

this will not help you connect to PSN.. only charles proxy and vitaupdateblocker can do the work..

and by the way, no need for "rebuild the database" thing.. you just have to normally restart your vita with wifi turned off, and flight mode enabled. then you can use qcma/ocma

You cannot connect to the PSN if you are not on the latest firmware, simple and short however convoluted it may seem. Charles just spoofs a firmware update tricking the Vita into thinking you are on the latest firmware (so it won't bother you anymore about updating to the latest firmware). I believe you can also update to a specific firmware (obviously below the most up-to-date firmware but above your current firmware) by passing the appropriate pup file into the proxy client (charles or skfuproxy - when you start the update, it will appear as an activity under the client and you can inject the pup file).
So you can stay on the same firmware (by spoofing just as you would spoof an activation if you want to unlock a mobile phone sim card), you can update to a higher firmware (that is not the most recent, you CANNOT downgrade) but you can not have access to the PSN or other online features if you are not on the latest firmware.

I can now by pass update system and connect to my PC but I can't find the files/folders that contain the homebrew game(s) that I want to install. I tried changing the folders in the settings for QCMA to where my psvita files are and where I installed by custom firmware. Any ideas?

you need first turn off the conection on your vita then power off and power on your vita run QCMA and plugin you usb on pc and vita and you don gonna be asked for update
