So I just picked up a new PS4 here in China. It was one of the limited edition Dragon ones, which is why i bought a Chinese one, as opposed to an import model.
As you may have heard, the China model is region locked, in terms of PSN accounts, and I'm looking for a way to bypass that.
I've tried initialising, then updating with a US .pup file, but it still came up with 'Not available in your country/region' when I tried to sign into my PSN account.
I also tried using a VPN router, that makes all my other devices think they are in the US. But that made no difference either.
So I guess the 'block' must be local. Would anyone have any suggestions about how I would go about 'flashing' a US firmware, rather than simply trying to install one? I've done that with phones and cameras, but have had no luck finding answers for the PS4.
