Will you be getting a PS4?

The vita's trick to stream games from the ps4 will be dependent upon your ps4 being on, and in range of your wifi router.
The vita can't run these games by itself, but wifi can receive just the video and accept just the buttons for input from the vita.
It's an overglorified remote desktop, mandatory ps4 connection.
Once it's hacked a bit and you can remote desktop the vita with a pc, then I'll buy 2 more vitas.

Since the ps3 never saw it's fruition, and I'm still waiting for a game to blow my mind on it - the ps4 will have to wait all the longer for me to give a S about it.
All consoles are is games, and if those same games are always better on pc, then I won't have any consoles.
I sure won't buy a ps4 just too be cool, like so many hipsters are promising.
I bet the steam box outsells the ps4 for for 5 years.
Why? because it lets you play your old games, and the ps4 does not.
Arn't we sick of re-buying our psx and ps2 games just to play on the ps3?
The ps4 will be all the worse.
I promise to not buy a ps4 until it's moddable, regardless.

I hate people who say "I'll only buy the console if it can be modded/hacked", is that all you care about? what if the system has no good game? you'll be stuck with a hacked system, but no actual good game to pirate, you prefer being able to pirate games than having actual good games? oh and piracy + good games is not doable, the only console I know who had easy piracy AND had good games was the Dreamcast, and sadly we all know what happened to it, and don't even dare saying that the ps2 was hackable and had good games at the same time, cause hacked ps2s weren't too common, hacking a ps2 isn't just downloading and installing a file, takes much more than that

As much as I hate most things Sony do with their products, I'll probably get it on release with an FPS and some RPG games but I'm skeptical at the same time. It might have hardware issues like the Japanese Vita did (USB) and YLOD issues. I might just wait until a hardware revision model is done to maybe fix issues the original model may come with (PS3 FAT, in my experience, is terrible with YLOD issues whereas the new Slims are much better and last longer).

I hope they don't use them cheap thermal pastes...

I agree with you, but I also agree to the fact that out of all three companies out there, sony does best. Nintendo simply doesn't care about hardware or even games, they keep releasing the same **** over and over again. Microsoft just plain sucks, anything that has to do with them sucks.

YLOD issues

it was a problem many companies faced when they had to change from leaded solder to lead-free solder, but eventually they got better at using it and the ylod/rrod issue is long gone

I have a 60GB fat PS3 with PS2 support, no YLOD, no Laser problem, nothing. On the other hand I had an 80GB fat PS3 that supposedly fixed the YLOD and laser problems, while I didn't have any problem with the laser, the system itself died of YLOD. Also, fyi, a friend of mine just had his slim ps3 ylod on him. Ain't it funny that my super old fat 60GB model lasts more than his new slim model?

Call me typical, but I think I might just upgrade my PC instead this generation, that is if this DRM issue doesn't get out of hand (COUGH* SIMCITY *COUGH). Next gen consoles aren't looking good imo. I'll probably just keep my PS3 and 360 since they're still going to support it with games like GTA V for another year. There's a ton of PC exclusive games I'm looking forward to like DAYZ, Arma III, Outlast. Plus the graphics will be better on PC.

im a sucker for new consoles, since i was a kid the excitement of something new and different always gets me, so i will be getting the ps4 .. i would like to get it the day it comes out lol but i dunno if my wife will be so happy about that

I'm gonna get it after theres a proper bargain deal on it, I got the PS3 (40gb) with 2 games and 2 controllers for £300. -saved £140 xD
