The DS4 is compatible with PS3 & PC.
They have GaiKai.

The reason PS3 games aren't backwards compatible is because of the CELL architecture the PS3 had and the new PC architecture the PS4 has.

Yes, with the modding community, i'm sure if Sony let the hackers/modders work on their firmware, they could have backwards compatible to PS1 and PS2 games day 1 included in the 1.50 patch.
PS3 backwards compatibility is tricky because of the power needed. There isnt even a decent emulator for ps3 out for PC right now because of this.

Why would you say "They look down at backwards compatibility" ?

No one wants that mess when they basically made the first model ps3 with a ps2 shoved inside it for $100 more :p

They do look down at it, because its cost effective not to include it lol, do i need to explain more for you troll?

Your the only one that thinks its mess, but for people who have tons of ps1/2 discs laying around I bet think otherwise...

On topic: I hope remote play is awesome like its put out to be :)

imo, it will suck. Not everyone will want to buy a vita with their ps4, and game devs will not be interested in wasting money on a feature that only a few people will have, so it'll end up either being badly implemented or not being implemented at all. This is what happens with every gimmick ever, and remote play is no different.

I still have hope.. What your saying makes sense, I just hope remote play becomes huge, and gets implemented correctly :P

In my opinion, paying an extra $150 - $200 for a two in one console is kind of not good. But I do think they should at least make a model with the ps2 and ps1 backwards compatible for $499, and maybe a ps3 backwards compatible for maybe $549 - $599

They would amazing if they did that!

You could always just buy a Super tower and built a high end gaming PC in it and then put all the hardware from a ps1, ps2, ps3, and ps4 inside and have an all in one kind of
