it was stated that the PS3's longlasting controller, will NOT be compatible with their next gen console.... but oddly enough, the PS move controllers will be compatible with it.
To me, this doesn't come as a shock. Bear in mind that the PS4 isn't backwards compatible with the PS3 and that the new controller has alot more technology on it, although there was no mention on the biometric sensors of heartbeat monitors, and knowing that all consoles usually come with just the one controller, you'll most likely have to purchase another one.... and I'm guessing that they wont be cheap.
When was the last time anything with a touchpad was cheap??
But if your really that stressed about the backwards compatibility, don't worry, you can still use it ! (and remember Gaikai will be supplying PS3 games anyway).
Move is useable with the DS4, with a new camera, which has 2 1200x800 cameras with an 85degree field of view, and for some reason, 4 microphones
The move controllers being compatible was showcased at the conference by a well known developers known as Media Molecule behind games such as Litle Big Planet 1 & 2 and also new Vita game - tearaway
I think the reason they made the old move controllers compatible to reassure the consumer that a part of the PS3 will be useable with their new console, so something is brought over.Ps2 had ps1 emulation, PS3 had PS2 and PS1 emulation (later to be just ps1) and PS4 would have..... erm...... a type of controller that 40% on consumers have
( i wouldnt put ps2/ps1 emulation out of the question though)
If you have a PS3 and are *** at this decision,leave your opinions down below.
Personally I think the controller should've looked like this;
