no man's sky on ps4 and the "offline" thing

well i read some articles about that game (most of them were about the game in general, non platform specific), it seems to be clear that the game will be playable offline on ps4. neverthess all articles that i read weren't specific enough and partly confusing, at least for me. so i hope to find some experts here that can clarify this:
will there be a required one time internet connection to download (some) game data at first installation?
sorry if this has been discussed before, but i'm new and don't want to spend 3 hours searching through the forum for most probably simple questions, that can be answered here in a minute by an expert. thanks in advance
