PS3 No Power...need advice please!

it's a fat cechl01.

tried replacing the psu, nothing.

i can hear the electric current going into the psu when i plug in the cord, but yeah nothing, no lights nothing.


could it be the motherboard? i don't see any burns/marks on it, but how easy is that to replace?


is there any other software that needs to be done if i get a direct replacement?


if nothing else the main thing i want to be able to do is save all the files i have on the hard drive...transfer them to my pc or something.


can i do that? if so how?

Hi;

Well as far as I remember, the ps2 had fuses on the motherboard... the ds had fuses on the motherboard... and I'm sure as HE LL, that the ps3 has also a lot of fuses on its motherboard.

Here look at that, that should be the your motherboard model: (you stated you got a cech L)

There are at least 5 occurrences of fuses which prevent any kind of reaction of the ps3.

Regarding your HDD... as long as you don't get your ps3 working and can retrieve your Console ID or at least make a back up with that back up function... you're lost.
Ps3xport and pexploit can only work on those backups created by a ps3... there are methods where you don't need your console id but still... you need that thing alive again.
