Some questions about Cobra ODE

I had a few questions about the cobra ode and I was hoping someone may be able to answer them. First off I have a PS3 Super Slim. Model number CECH-4001C. I know that there are multiple versions of the cobra ode and I'm still not sure which version I need. Also it will require soldering, which I have no idea how to do. I wanted to see if there was some service or something that will do it for you if you pay them for it. I looked it up and I found a few that will do it, but they're asking for like $200, plus I have to provide my own cobra ode so that's almost another $100. Anyone know of any cheaper services?

You could use any version Cobra ODE you want, though I think I'd recommend the 4.10 I think it was. Version 3.00 is expensive and version 5.30 has so many problems it's not even funny. And as for service you might be out of luck. Best bet would be to look at craigs list or ebay. I'd definitely recommend sending it to someone though because I'm an experienced solderer but I had a somewhat difficult time installing it. Definitely not something you'd want to start off on.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I'll take all that into consideration. There really aren't any other services though that you know of? There has to be something out there. I've just gotta keep looking till I find it. I guess I should be asking if anyone knows any mod chip selling websites that do installs. Every service I found was from a mod chip retailer. Hopefully there's one that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!

Modchipcentral sells and does installs but if I remember right they also cost a lot to install.

I just looked it up and modchipcentral will install the 4.20 QSV model in my super slim for approx $175. I'm pretty sure that includes the price of the actual ode as well. I guess that's not as bad as I was expecting but still not great. My stepdad works for a tech company so I'm hoping one of his geek friends can hook me up lol.

I think i have to ask here because I dont know where to post and the title is all about the Cobra Ode.

I have super slim OFW 4.21 CECH4xxx and I bought Cobra ODE QSV version... It is under installation right now from a shop and will get it after few days... Just want to ask if it is possible to play PS2 backups with my PS3 after installing CObra? Is there any emulator for me to install to get it working?

Not possible, that feature only works on the phats. And no, no emulator. You need to purchase PS2 games directly from PSN
