Hope nobody minds me asking this in here but it is reasonably CFW related.

Does anybody know of a reliable way to convert PAL PS1 games to allow them to be played on a CFW PS3? Or a way to play the actual discs on a CFW PS3?

Either option is fine, I just want to be able to either convert or play my own discs and every programme I've tried to use in the past doesn't work too well with PAL discs apparently.

On Cobra CFW's you can just use the image file. You just put it in /dev_hdd0/PSXISO and mount it with webMAN/multiMAN.
I'm not sure if thats an option on non cobra CFWs since i never used one.

I'm using Rebug and have Cobra features so I could do that fine.

But how might I go about getting an image file/ISO from my physical disc?

Edit: sorry, in my original post I said "convert" when I should have said rip!

I'm trying to find out how to rip the file from my actual PAL discs.

I'll give that a try tomorrow! I've tried various different internet recommended program's but none of them seem to work properly.

I'm convinced its because of the black colouring of the PAL discs though I could be totally off the page here.

Nop thats just there to make it look cool, In fact you can find CD's in pretty much any color.
Not sure if IMGburn will work for PS1 games but it works fine for my PS2 games.

I'll give it a try latter with MGS to see if it works, It should tho.

I'm from germany, so i can't help with this. But if you're ok with disassembling the PS3 yourself
(its not rocket sience, you just need to take your time and care) i suggest, you buy the flasher yourself.
Even once you're on CFW it's nice to have it to deal with bricks. Also it's probably not cheaper to have done by someone else.
