YLOD! Please help!!

My ps3 recently got ylod. But it has never over heated or anything and recently had a thermal paste replacement done by a computer pro that used arctic silver 5 about 3 months ago. The ps3 just happened to YLOD on me after formatting the system in recovery menu.. I can not access recovery mode, but the ps3 can still do its fan mode test. Is there anyway to save this? Would I need a reball or a reflow done?
