Please don't tell I have to replace the Blue Ray lenses :/
Cause that's the last thing I want to do
The ps3 has a built in Self cleaning mechanism, there are two ways you can initiate the process, the first way by using the ps3 for a long time, and the second way by "unplugging the ps3, hold the eject button for 10 seconds, plug in the power cord, and then the ps3 fans rotate at max rpm to filter out the dust inside the ps3"pspsheep wrote:i had the same problem i stripped the ps3 right down (following a youtube video) and
cleaned all the dust out and cleaned the laser with alcahole and that worked perfect for
me. if thats what you mean be self clean then sorry i dont know.
Sorry, I replied really late, but I was having disk reading issues with the ps3 slimjd20dog wrote:what model ps3 are you having the issue with?
the self cleaning "mecanism" is for fan dust and other acumulated dust, not to clean the laser, you will have to open and clean the drive, you will be ok, disassembling the unit to reach the disc drive is easy, even disassembling it completely is easy, anyway you will be fine, if you get in trouble just watch some youtube videoHarakiri_Robot12 wrote:The ps3 has a built in Self cleaning mechanism, there are two ways you can initiate the process, the first way by using the ps3 for a long time, and the second way by "unplugging the ps3, hold the eject button for 10 seconds, plug in the power cord, and then the ps3 fans rotate at max rpm to filter out the dust inside the ps3"pspsheep wrote:i had the same problem i stripped the ps3 right down (following a youtube video) and

I, really am trying to open my ps3, cause I don't want to mess up my ps3
and repairing it is just out of the question (for now)...
