The PS3-OpenCMA swap trick for transferring exploit games to lower firmware PSV's is quite well documented on this website.... It's a wonder it is not patched yet on the PS3 side.

Seems Sony misspoke about the the PS3-to-Vita transfer feature, and meant that all this update does is prepare the PS3 for it.
It won't actually be possible to transfer via these new methods until a yet-to-be-released Vita OFW is available. This means that anyone on an older Vita firmware will be out of luck on this transfer method.
Also, they clarified that the transferring vita Ethernet cable part is for PSVitaTV only.
