how many users on here are looking for cfw ps3s?

if your ps3 has 3.55 or older, use the guide in the forums, you wont be disappointed with rebug
its not hard by any means, it just takes a few hours to set it all up,
rebug seems to be the most complete and user friendly cfw so far
as for downgrading, depends on your ps3 model, there are a few post on the web you can find with google

All models after CECHG are NORs.
Have you checked the data code of your 2501B?
Only a 0D or older data code can be certain to support 3.55, while a 1A still needs to be checked with MiniVersionChecker to determine if it supports 3.55
Anything later, and its no dice.

I think i have a 1B which is not downgradble. Though i may not be checking the right spot i think. I dont see a area like this on my ps3 [spoiler][/spoiler]

Hmm, my Phat doesn't list a Data Code either, it seems. This might vary by region, as it appears my CECHK01 instead lists Sept 2008, which would correlate to 8C, as the numbers mean the Year, and the letter the Quarter.
Anyways, 1B would mean April 2011 or later, if you have a similar label to mine.
If it doesn't list either of those, use MiniVersionChecker. It can still tell you if your models supports 3.55
