Couple questions about PS3 and Vita

no, your vita dose not have to be on the latest firmware. You just have to register your vita to your ps3, then you connect threw private network instead of internet connection.(you need to be signed in to PSN to use it over the internet). But by using private network, you don't need to sign in to PSN.

Also, you have to have a back manager with games on your ps3 hard drive to load your ps3 games. you cant just pop a disk in and play it on your vita.

Thanks,atleast I know I don't have to update. And no,I know it doesn't work that way. I havn't actually had a ps3 with cfw for well over a year but I still remember playing all my "back-ups" through multiman.

I'm really interested in the remote play/cross play feature and I've heard it works on all games with CFW. Does my vita need to be on the newest firmware to take advantage of those features?

I know how Sony loves to force you to update for absolutely no reason. Another question I have is with playing PSP games on the PS3. If you can play them with the second analog stick like how you can on the Vita. Thanks.

No, there is no right stick on the PSP and theres no way to implement it without completely remaking the entire game.

OK I know I am late to the game and doubt I will get some help but I'm going to ask, a while back someone was telling me how to unpack a ps3.pkg and add in a ps1 something to get it to boot as if I was playing a a ps1 classic game. Does anyone know how to do this and what I need to do? That k you for the help
