The outrageous asking prices for PS3's with FW 3.55 or under

According to one website, the 60gb fully backwards compatible phat model on release day in Australia was $999.

Now they are regularly fetching $500 on online market places. How they still worth half of their price brand new almost 7 years later astounds me. They are losing their value slower than my car is!

When you think about it, your pretty much buying a ticking YLOD bomb....

It would probably be cheaper if you buy PS3 that's not on 3.55, and then get a E3 Flasher / Progskeet to downgrade it.

Maybe, a hundred dollars cheaper. (if dollars is the case, sorry i didn't read)

but nope,
for example, mine cost around 5400 MXN with E3 flasher included,
if you do the math then...

4000 - 301.12 USD
+1400 - 105.37 USD
---
5400 MXN - 406.49 USD

and I think it still expensive.

The only thing you can thank for
is the knowledge, the know-how of opening you console
learn and apply the trick
and the confidence that no one is going to steal you parts
or at least your PS3's BD drive,

since here in Mexico there are no responsible and honest stores who do the job
without stealing you parts from your console and pretend (fake) dementia.
