Display Problem with 720p and 1080p
Hey guys. First off, I've been having problems with the display. It's not a serious problem, but it is minor and it is irritating... Well, my copy of Resident Evil 5 was working fine, 1080p and all. I was playing Co-op split-screen with my brother (which is actually very fun), and I noticed the the 2 screens were not touching the sides of the TV. Me, being **** and all, went to the display settings on the PS3 and set it to only supporting the 720p output. So, I started it back up, but the screens were the same. But that is not my problem. What IS my problem is that I cannot get it back to displaying 1080p. I reset the display settings to 1080p, but whenever it starts it is in 720p... I just can't win.

Try resetting the PS3's video configuration data. To do so, make sure the PS3 is off, then hold the power button down until it beeps a 2nd single time.

Will that delete any saved data? Sorry, I just got a PS3 for Christmas...
Re: Display Problem with 720p and 1080p
No, it deletes nothing aside from the PS3 stored information on what video cable and resolution it last used. Typically this is used as the main fix for the PS3 not showing video after changing tvs/cables. Thought it may help in this case.

Alright, I'll try it in a little later.
EDIT: It didn't work. It's not that big of a deal though.

Hmm... sorry for rising the dead, but maybe I can help.
What you need to do is de-select every option other than 1080p, that should solve your problem.

You can't de-select 576p.thebudds wrote:Hmm... sorry for rising the dead, but maybe I can help.

That's strange... I use a gold plated Microsoft HDMI cable and a 1080p HD Sony Bravia, and my PS3 offers 576p.

Re: Display Problem with 720p and 1080p
I think it's due to you being PAL and me being NTSC. I've seen fellow battleloggers for BF3 talk about this over the input-lag issue. On my system, I have 480p, then the rest.Casavult wrote:That's strange... I use a gold plated Microsoft HDMI cable and a 1080p HD Sony Bravia, and my PS3 offers 576p.
