PS1 Loader on 3.36+
PS1 Loader on 3.36+
What are the chances someone else will have the ability to release a PS1 loader on 3.36 and above? Chances are looking very slim that TN is ever coming back at this point to release his updated TNX or TNV source code. Just curious if anyone else was involved with finding usermode PS1 exploits and if we could come up with some sort of ARK-equivalent to replace TNX. I have a beautiful white vita 1k on 3.36 that I've been dying to get PS1 games to load outside of TNV11....

ARK for PS1 exploits is in progress but unfortunately it will work up to 3.18/3.20. Unless TN returns back, i don't think we will have native ps1 exploits in recent firmwares.

Are there any tutorials for finding PS1 exploits? Much like wololo has posted for finding PSP usermode exploits? I would be willing to help try and find a new ps1 game to use at least.

Nope. Native PS1 exploits are not something too many people have looked into, few (if any) scene people aside from TN know how it works right now. I doubt others will put the effort just for PS1 games. Honestly, its a ton of work to do what TN achieved: game loading, the bubble, the plugin support, having to find another exploit. Its too bad people leaked TN's work... we might never get a perfect sound PS1 loader on 3.30+ because of that.ANU815 wrote:Are there any tutorials for finding PS1 exploits? Re: PS1 Loader on 3.36+
I have been a little disappointed with the ps1 loader (3.18 using xs moto). I have had a bunch of games simply not work in the ps1 loader, however they work in the regular psp tnv loader. For example, suikoden 1 would break the ps1 loader to the point that all the games disappeared and if I tried breath of fire IV it would kick me out of the ps1 exploit. Both these games worked in the psp loader. That said, when the do work in ps1 loader, they work flawlessly.
Am I doing something wrong? If not, I suppose the best option available is to use both loaders to run ps1 games...

Haven't had any issues myself. I've not tried those two games, but I can attest to castlevania SOTN, and pretty much all final fantasy games. I'm using XS Moto as well. I just wish I could choose what directory TNX uses so that I can uses game categories in TNV appropriately.

Why do we need TN again?Acid_Snake wrote:Excuse me Zett, but TN did nothing with the PSX exploits, qwik and I found them, then gave them to him to create a CFW. Either you change the credits to only reflect us in the PSX games, or you change all of them to reflect every CFW and VHBL developer ever.
The way I do it is I just leave all PS1 games in the GAME folder. Then make category folders I.E. CAT_Homebrew, CAT_PSP Games etc. Then set the categories plugin to only show category folders. This will hide the PS1 games in the GAME folder. If you have the PS1 loader you don't need the PSX games on TNV.ANU815 wrote:Haven't had any issues myself. I guess I've got a touch of OCD and like to see the custom ICON0, PIC1 and snd0.at3 that I've set up for my PS1 games. I know...pointless with TNX, but I spent enough time back in the day perfecting these stupid icons and looping sound tracks that I like to check them out every now and again. For now, when I go to TNV, they are just sitting in the Uncategorized section at the bottom with all of the crazy random $hit you get when you create bubbles. The way I do it is I just leave all PS1 games in the GAME folder. To further quote Acid_Snake. Not sure where this ever landed.dmaskell92 wrote:Why do we need TN again?Acid_Snake wrote:Excuse me Zett, but TN did nothing with the PSX exploits, qwik and I found them, then gave them to him to create a CFW. Re: PS1 Loader on 3.36+
I have the final fantasy games all working and havent tried SOTN. If you get a chance to test out suikoden or breath of fire IV, let me know how it turns out...I suspect the problem has more to do with me than the ps1 loader. Still, it is strange that these games work in the tn-v psp environment but not in the xs moto environment. (not sure I mentioned it earlier, but I am using a playstation tv).ANU815 wrote:Haven't had any issues myself.
