FTP is slow and overrated IMHO

I can only get like 1mbps personally though wifi, my internets faster then that =\ and i live in australia.. worst internet ever here.

I find just naming the ISO INSTALL.ZIP ( not even compressing it. ) transfering it though CMA, and naming it back is faster, don't even have to move it to the iso folder, i can transfer a 1.6gb file in a minute or so and be playing straight away.

am i the only one who is doing this for files over 500mb

FTP typically relies on your LAN connection, not your ISP speeds. Unless you're transferring from a different home IP.

That's a pretty bad *** setup. I transfer through my computers lol, but doing it from your smartphone seems pretty radical.

means I can download home brew when I'm out and about I use my phone as a wifi hot spot and connect the Vita to it and transfer stuff through an FTP client. Can't be bothered setting up my crappy *** computer so its been a real godsend. I love android. I'd love to see android on the Vita someday, duel booting vita custom firmware with android and live area would kick ***.

In some ways I feel like Android would "save" the Vita. It would have so much more appeal to users and developers. The only problem with Android is the security is so loose. Without a doubt, SONY would not want to have any part of this, as it would lead to uncontrollable amounts of piracy.

Sony don't know what they're missing out on. if it had released with a duel boot or even with android and a live area app for games and the store like PlayStation certified phones their sales might not be lurking around 2 million and more 10 or 15 million. maybe one day with a fully fledged Vita kernel hack.

*edit* and if the 3g model had dialing capabilities too. I mean it would be a pretty chunky phone but I'd use it. one device for all!

As cool as the Vita is, I could never make it my phone lol, but I see your point. It's the security and control over the platform that SONY clearly wants. Which honestly, would be fine if more blockbuster titles came out for the Vita. But to this point, I still don't think any Vita game is worth writing home about.

it would deter some of hackers who's aim isn't piracy away from the Vita side of things tho cos you can already get all the emulators you need and thousands of apps on android so you really wouldn't need homebrew, well sone might but I personally wouldn't need homebrew and they also wouldn't make Vita owners have to wait 4 MONTHS for a YouTube app. I mean wtf Sony! you should have had that sorted before launch.

................................ -_-...

read my post again, I implied i can download from the internet across the world faster then i can transfer wirelessly 2cm away from my vita, and i am very aware why, if i had a better router etc i would prob get more speeds, the point is im transfering files to a device slower then i can actually physically get the file, thats awful dude
