Future of CFE?

Post by reported » Thu Oct 04, 2012 4:22 am

Isn't this entirely useless if they patch it and force people to update into a new version, thus, disabling both bugged game and CFE?

Wouldn't they stop the CFE from working even if you have no internet for future users of it? Asking because my birthday is soon and I would like to buy a Playstation Vita.

If your asking if it can get patched, yes it will most likely in the next fw.

If you have CFE now, i suggest stayin in airplane mode, so no autoupdate

But what if they patch game so that you can only get a fixed version?

Is there any way we could get the exploitable version from Sony or whoever?

The game is only used to trigger the kxploit, there are tons of game exploits so thats not the prblem, kxploits are more rare to come by

Oh, so there might be other exploits that they haven't fixed yet and we've been using that could trigger CFE?

Well, as long as CFE works by the time I get my console...

CFE, ProCFW, etc, all run on kxploits, there are a few more unreleased on the vita, lets just hope they dont get patched in the next FW

A few things of note:
1. Sony never patches the games, they only patch the firmware. Read more: http://wololo.net/2012/09/01/when-the-p ... tle-scars/

2. Sony cannot auto update the console, no matter what it says in their EULA. It would cause all sorts of legal problems. The user also has to sign off saying he agrees with the EULA before updating. Also, no update can occur if the console is in airplane mode.

3. In reference to point 1, depending on when you get your PSP, there is a high chance that it will be updated past 1.81 from the factory so this current exploit will be useless.

Well I live in the Canaries and I somewhat doubt the poor stores in here have been selling Vitas all that much so when I get one it'll probably go with an older firmware version...I hope.

There's no way to downgrade yet, right?
