PSP-Installer - Write to /PSP/GAME/ on all firmwares

This uses the Email trick to copy games or bubble stuff to ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/
It works up to 3.52. It DOES NOT work on 3.55 and neither does any of the other Email tricks.

I only recommend doing this if you're on a firmware that cannot rename the PSP folder.

WARNING: This wipes out your GAME folder! Make backups before using this!

This was last updated on 10-10-2015 with more descriptive instructions and images detailing the process.

thanks. If you don't have a game that requires an update then I think you can install a version of Netflix that will ask for an update using a trick that was posted on the blog awhile back. I used the Netflix update to install PSM dev app for Unity.

It works up to 3.52 and will very likely get patched on the next firmware update.

I only recommend doing this if you're on a firmware that cannot rename the PSP folder.
Instructions wrote:Instructions:
1. Place your PSP game you want to install in the 'p' folder of the savedata.
For example: "<thisFolder>/PSAVEDATA/PSP-INSTALLER/p/VHBL/EBOOT.PBP"
2. Copy the savedata to you Vita using QCMA.
3. Make sure you have no notifications and are not downloading anything.
4. Rebuild database in recovery.
5. Using Outlook or Thunderbird, forward PSP-INSTALLER.eml to your email account.
6. Find any Vita app or game that has an update available, click update, and then pause the download.
7. Open the Email app and click the attachments one at a time.
It should show an error that says it could not display the image. DO NOT click the ok button.
Instead, press home and close the Email app.
8. Once you have installed both files, reboot your Vita.
9. Then, continue the download. The download should now be ~5mb ( 5007kb ). If not, something went wrong.
10. Once downloading is complete, cancel the installation.
11. Open the CMA app on your Vita. Go to Applications -> PSP/Other -> and delete the corrupt icon.
( It might also display 0000 )
12. Done!

Optional:
-If you need to update or overwrite the eboot, use VitaMailWriter to overwrite the file.
https://github.com/tomtomdu80/VitaMailWriter/releases

Troubleshooting:
-If when you resume the download it is not ~5mb ( 5007 KB ):
1. Delete the savedata from your Vita
2. Write the files in reset_bgdl.eml with the email trick
3. Rebuild Database in recovery
4. Start the instructions over again ( You can skip #4 though )

May I ask how you created the pdb files, or is that supposed to be hush-hush?

I dunno I haven't messed with ePSP stuff in a while (since 3.18) so I don't know what all is possible on latest firmwares.

The files are there, anyone can hex edit the paths to install things anywhere on ux0

EDIT: ok i think I misread the subject line it means WRITE to PSP GAME folder Not Write PSP games. My bad. which VHBL file do we need to use? a fixed one with base game (mr gas tutorial) or some another one?

EDIT2: I successfully wrote the VBHL to vita however how do I launch it or see it? are there any other steps?

None of the email tutorials actually work mainly due to lacking specific instructions, the same issue with this one here it says VHBL/EBOOT.PBP.. psp games arent in an eboot format nor is there a vhbl folder? can you calirfy the path properly?
/PSAVEDATA/PSP-INSTALLER/p/? GAME.iso or GAME/Game.iso

2.If we want to install VHBL, via this method, is it possible? if so which vhbl file and which path? (mr gas vita rebirth bubble does not work for anyone at hackinformer due to lack of proper instruction)

The 'p' folder replaces the GAME folder. When successful, there is no 'p' folder anymore because it is now the GAME folder in /PSP/GAME
This is why it wipes it. There's unfortunately no way around it.
