Ok so I can confirm this works on ZHP 3.18 at least.
Your ISO also works on demos (tested on Locoroco Midnight Carnaval).

So can someone clarify for me, for me to do a custom bubble, I end up with double the disk space used? for example, If I want to put a 1 gb psp iso on, I need that 1 gb psp iso and another >1gb PSN base game?

Yes you have it right, the base game must be bigger in size than the ISO you want to boot from the bubble. So if your ISO is 1GB than your base game must be 1GB or greater which means it will take 2GB+ of memory on your vita memory card when your all done.

Whilst booting PSP ISO's via this technique. It makes much better sense if you are planning on staying on FW3.18 to make a TN-V and a FTP bubble.
If you are planning on updating......
