I know nothing of programming and hacking, so could some tell me, what exacly can we possibly acheive with the memory card dump?

it would be great if anyone put a memory stick inside a debug psvita at ps event (like gamescom), make a mini and full core dump and try to decrypt it. Maybe anyone know how to do with these file

nevermind, seems that the dump can only be upload
sorry 4 my bad english :)

So is a pinout for the mem stick going to be released soon, or is the method used not direct interface?

I believe their method may be a local inclusion or directory traversal bug. I don't think this was done via pin interface (hardware method). Maybe they would like to clarify?

I simply don't know. it looks like just a modified m2 shell. Usually Sony re-use the same things they have by improving them with new hardware inside. That's why i supposed that it was just a modified M2.

Well, actually it looks the same (i have an M2 and it has the same size) only the pins differs.

I have spent some decent time looking into many aspects of the hardware. In the case of the memory media, I have decapped the package, chucked the die under a microscope, sniffed/dumped the protocol etc.
They have a similar form factor to an M2, but are more like a micro SD card internally, as far as circuit design, microcontroller and flash chip(s) are concerned.

No offence, but it is like saying, "an orange and a lemon are the same - they are just different colours". They may both be citrus, but they are not both oranges.

Anyway, this is a bit off topic.

No offence at all.
Actually i never said it was an M2 inside.I expressed myself badly, i'm sorry. I haven't decapped the chip, so mine was just an assumption. I thought it was a good thought just because i saw it the best idea that Sony (a corporation that now is losing money) could have on a new proprietary memory card.
Anyway from the info you gave me now, i was right. M2 memory cards are quite rare (at the least here, where i live), so making a "modified M2" was, for me, the best idea they could have, since they just need to use the old M2 shell + a new (existing) integrated circuit ("like a micro SD card internally").

Ah, then perhaps you would be able to give a little insight to the pinout? :)
