dmaskell92 wrote:Ok where do I start, unsigned code/games/homebrew is against Sony TOS. That being said, a cart creator, would (probably) also be in violation of the cart patent. Long story short, any created cart would be "bad" in Sony's eyes, and they would act swiftly to shut down said patent violations. You can't just make a Vita cart and sell it, even if you made your own game. The Cart, and Vita are patents of Sony, and ANY violation of said patent designs get sued/shut down. Sony sells devkit Vita's, but I think you need a license to buy one.
Thanks for your answer. I do know that all kind of hack/piracy or maybe custom cards would break what you call TOS. But that TOS will maybe not afraid some chinese compagny (or other, why only chinese) to make something bad. I do not want to talk about piracy stuff, my interest is only about the homebrew developpement. And maybe nobodies care if a pirated cards refuse backups (let's dream that can happen), but guys like me care. I like what is happening in the WII scene also, about GameCube isos. These people are cool.

So, if the games are unencrypted, could you learn from them? That the only question I asked so far.

Thanks

if the card is full encrypted, then how vita load it to run? there is 512m memory only (some are used by the system already).

From what I know there is 4GB internal storage of what about 880MB are used by the system. It was pointed out by dumping the NAND by yifan lu. So there could be the possibility that the remaining 3GB are used as a game cache during playing, either PSN or PSV card games. This could be verified by making a NAND dump during running games, right?

I'm not an expert dev, but if you look to image, you can see strings. So the memory is not encrypted, but the game (like Eboot.bin, etc) is obvoiusly encrypted.
This IMHO.

Im no expert dev either but its rather obvious that the Vita can decrypt its own games :/
