Re: QCMA - Cross-platform content manager for the PSVita
That could be solved with a USB OTG cable...... but lets leave that for another time when the android port is done. I stll have to improve the linux version a little more before moving to Android.

Is an iOS version possible as well?

A Phone version would be totally stupid and utterly cr@p. Neither android nor iOS should have QCMA, since using a mobile device for another mobile device sounds stupid. (I dont count laptops as "mobile" devices, like a PSP or a phone would be).NNNRT wrote:Is an iOS version possible as well?
f#cking magnets, how do they work?fate6 wrote:Well one would assume that magnets would be involved then add some taco sauce and its a good bet it will be something akin to FTPAcid_Snake wrote:but how would it work?Casavult wrote:QCMA on Android? Now that would be awesome.

The amount of logic here is mind boggling. Totally explains why all mobile devices should use proprietary memory cards that are unique to the device itself, with bonus points if unique to revision too. Because let's face it, we'll never ever want to transfer things from a phone to a Vita. The Z wrote:A Phone version would be totally stupid and utterly cr@p. I was more thinking of transfering PSP/Vita game titles.
For stuff like photos, music and videos could blue-tooth be used. What? No? You prefer a sweet connection via the fabulous and totally not iTunes like Content Manager App? Hmm, ... Okay, my fault.

FTP apps on ios have been pretty useful for me with Tn-V. No need to be hating the idea of file transfers between mobile devices...just saying..

iOS is too closed, i don't think that an app can even maintain a tcp/ip connection for other devices.NNNRT wrote:Is an iOS version possible as well?
tl;dr: LOL
For the multimedia content i could agree with you: why i would waste battery transferring/streaming music/videos when i can watch/listen to them using my phone directly?. But for games there is a legitimate use case:The Z wrote: A Phone version would be totally stupid and utterly cr@p. I go on a trip for some days but cannot bring my laptop with me. I want to play lots of games on my Vita but i only have a 4GiB memory card. What do i do? Copy all the game backups to my phone sdcard and when i want to play another game then just transfer it to my Vita wirelessy (or by cable if the OTG solution is feasible).
Not everyone has the money to spend in a bigger memory card for the Vita and some people still have a crappy phone with a 3.5in screen and could prefer to watch a movie with the Vita screen.

That's why I want the iOS version!
Btw Content Manager should support Bluetooth connection, & the Bluetooth feature should support more devices. xD

I don't own any iDevices so i can't do any iOS development.
Bluetooth is too slow to do any serious file transfers. The game transfers will take several hours and will be impossible to stream videos.

For the record, libvitamtp should be easy to port to ios as long as the USB feature is disabled. Ios supports bsd sockets. I was gonna do a port if I ever had time.codestation wrote:iOS is too closed, i don't think that an app can even maintain a tcp/ip connection for other devices.NNNRT wrote:Is an iOS version possible as well?
