openCMA for Linux

Post by Acid_Snake »

After hours of editing the source code of yifanlu's openCMA I was finally able to compile it and run it in two computers running linux (ubuntu 10.10 and 12.10 to be more precise). The compiled binary should work with most linux distros, but if it doesn't then just recompile it with the source I've provided.

- Files
Precompiled binary
opencma.7z
(590.81 KiB) Downloaded 236 times
Source Code
VitaMTP.7z
(936.18 KiB) Downloaded 205 times
To compile from source code:
navigate to VitaMTP/libMTP
type:

Code: Select all

make
sudo make install
go back to VitaMTP and type:

Code: Select all

make
you should have the binary in VitaMTP/src/opencma
copy that file anywhere and launch it with root priviledges.

Setting the environment:
To be able to copy contents from Vita to PC and viceversa you need to recreate some folders:
APP
PGAME
PSAVEDATA
PSGAME
PSM
SYSTEM

no sorry, I don't have any compiler installed on windows, nor I care about windows development in the least bit.
openCMA Patch for official CMA works well enough, so there is no real need for this

Well I don't use Linux so I wouldn't know if it's good or not.

Eh, get a segfault when I run the binary, and can't compile the source.

Do you have a list of depends? Maybe I am missing something, though it does configure completely.

Sony really doesn't want me to use my vita on linux. :(

you shouldn't have configured it, it's already configured for linux, but please send me the output of the compiling process, it's probably a missing lib but I can't tell you which one without looking at the compiling log

Thanks Acid!
One question though, can I make and/or restore backups with this?

Unfortunelly I haven't gotten many beta testers. Hopefully this will allow more linux users to test opencma. Please report all bugs to the github issues page and when things are stable I can release debs and such
