Requirements -- ps3, pc with ocma
you don't need to use Charles proxy to do this or any proxy.
your vita doesn't have to be connected to WiFi either.

Am on ecfw 1.81 and after update 2.01 i try to get some games from my ps3 to my vita but my vita keep on saying you need to update.
So i keep trying different ways and found an easy way to connect your ps vita and ps3

i recommend to disable WiFi on vita.

1. Connect your ps vita to pc via usb.(you need to have opencma running on pc)
1a.Press on Content Manager on vita, It should connect perfectly
2. Disconnect the USB from pc and connect to ps3
2b. On your vita is should say "The PC has been disconnected" press ok
2b. ON your vita press connect to a ps3, now you should be able to connect to ps3

for those with out any exploit and still on 1.81 you can now try to download mad blocker alpha or urbanix to get an exploit.
No guarantee that the games aren't patch.

Haven't tried your method but i'd just like to point out that the games are never patched. It's the vulnerabilities In the PSPemu and since 1.80 and up, in the PS Vita firmware

Ugh, should have waited and not updated to 2.0, but PS+ was tempting me.

Oh well.

This method works. Just tried it and transferred MBA to my 1.80 VITA. Doh, I've been using the proxy method w/Charles this whole time. Thanks barturo!

My PSV is still running 1.67 as none of the games have interested me... and ive caught interest in Ragnarok and downloaded the demo to my PS3

Connected the vita up but it wanted to update, so im like aww.. oh well... (im holding out for VBHL.... lol... so dont wanna update)

Tried this method - my PS3 is fully up to date with whatever the latest OFW is, PSV still running 1.67...

I hav 2 ps3..modded & also with current firmware..i just want to activate my vita console back to play my download game again and open gravity crash for ecfw coz im on 1.81..the things is my cousin accidentally reformat the vita systm ..so the vita has been deactivated...so can we do it via ps3 to activate the vita back so i can use ecfw again.. ?

give it a try using this method, as its obvious it bypasses the firmware version check.

It will ALLWAYS prompt you to update, you have to PRESS OK before it will update. no harm in trying.
