Play Station Suite Tutorials

Postby senas8 » Tue May 01, 2012 4:49 am

So ever since I have heard about the Play Station Suite available for public beta, I have been very interested about it. After running the demos in PSS I was blown away and wanted to see more. Wanted to know more. On the official PSS forum there were a few dev's asking if it was ok with Sony for them to publish tutorials and wiki about PSS. After a few days the answer was that tutorials/examples/source code and wiki was ok. And I quote: " Haha, you have great taste in demos

Anyway, yes, you can. The FAQ (http://www.playstation.com/pss/develope ... faq_e.html) was appended to include:

Can I use my blog to introduce software I've developed (e.g. examples of source code)? (Added on Apr. 27th, 2012)

Yes, you can. However, if you plan to use it for commercial purposes (e.g. sell as middleware), please consult us (pss-tminfo@scei.co.jp) in advance.

PS: I'm curious to see how you implemented it because I was super lazy and just looped 12 frames as full-screen sprites."

With that being said I have found this: http://gamefromscratch.com/post/2012/04 ... nutes.aspx
It's basically a tutorial on how to export Blender models to PSS and vita. I find this useful and hope that many of you find it useful as there are a few tutorials such as hello world.. that goes into detail to build these apps. To moderators im hoping this is ok, just want to help out the few of us that want to ( Learn more)
Thank You.

The source is a bit poor (first C# coding) :D I will update them soon . It will use a different technique to load and animate the sprites.

Source updated.

http://www.notnotme.com/misc/!!MVita.zip

You'll find my whole ps vita work.

1. Pong Demo : a crappy demo that use GameEngine2D (wich is a good engine) and also my very first try in C# + PSS SDK.
2. GOSL : The little lib i write for my futur project (hopefully)
3. GOSL_Vita[1..4] : Project that use the lib. If you know what you read, it's mostly a tuto itself, but in fact this is my project to test and add the features step by step.
4. Vyancat : The first nyan cat (see the video on youtube)
5. Vyancat2 : The second nyancat. it use some feature of the lib.

This is my work and i it share with you. Please don't ask me anything if you don't know how to code something (i know, this is a little ridiculous to share and say that, but i don't wanna be spammed by people not serious). Take the source as it, and compare with the actual SDK sample source. With internet you can learn a lot without any of my explanation and I'm still learning how to make proper code myself. If you know what you do, feel free to ask me wathever you want about the sources.
