Cave Story PSP Vita crashing

Hello,
So every time that I try to run the cave story psp port on vhbl it goes to a solid black screen and crashes after about a minute or so giving me error (C1-2858-3). This happens when I run it from the SAVEDATA folder with EBOOT.PBP as well and from VHBL with the wmenu. I've also tried running the port on ARK-2 and it just leaves me hanging with the black screen.
How can I fix this/get the game running?
PS Vita 2001 FW 3.63
VHBL for FW 3.60
