gPSP Kai Fails To Load GBA Games?

I've come across a recent problem with gPSP Kai. My GBA games are in individual .zip files in the emulator's folder, but when trying to open them, I just get a black screen and booted back to VHBL. There was a point at which everything was working fine. I'm not sure what the issue is.

EDIT: I seem to get one of three results:
Game loads fine.
"Load ZIP ROM" sits on the screen until the Vita displays an error or just sits indefinitely.
Black screen, followed by a boot back to the VHBL menu.

I suppose a corrupted file is a possibility, but as I haven't modified anything, I'm not positive how that might be the case.

Version is gPSP Kai Test 3, build 152.
Vita firmware: 3.60.
I'm running VHBL through a custom bubble. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a very similar issue with one of the Vita's I was attempting to sell, it would load the bios file just fine but whenever I tried to launch a game it would throw some C1-whatever error and kick me back to the live menu. I fixed it by backing the custom bubble up and flashing it back over again, maybe try that?

What I tried was using Vita FTP to delete and transfer the games back to the device. That seems to have done the trick. For one of the games, I had to change an extension, since it had two, and that game seems to be working fine as well. Here's hoping it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the suggestion.
