Want VHBL on your 3.51 Vita? You have another chance.

First things first: I seem to be the only person who's tried this yet, so I don't know all the details. Let more qualified people tell you why this works. Second, you NEED TO HAVE A PS3 OR A WAY TO ACCESS PSN VIA PROXY. The exploit only works on 3.51, and PSN wants 3.52. Third, you'll need to ditch your mass of downloaded titles. Unless you got them on the JP store, you will not be able to play them once switching regions. If you have a proxy that works, good news, you just need to download and install the demo as usual.

TLDR, You need a PS3 or bypass proxy, a JP PSN account(Google Translate is a great thing) and a lack of want of your DLed titles. Backup anything you feel you should backup onto your PC.

(Optional) Use the EML file to trick your memory card into thinking it's never been in a Vita. Process is listed at http://hackinformer.com/2015/06/26/how- ... ormatting/

1)Restore your Vita to its factory setting through the Recovery menu. (Power off, then hold R, Home and Power together, and you'll get into the recovery menu.) Go through setups as usual, and make sure to sign into the japanese PSN account while in the initial setup. Otherwise, you'll have to start all over again.

2)Download Toukiden's PSP demo onto your PS3 through the use of a Japanese PSN account. PS3's arn't region locked quite like Vitas are, so this should be easy.

3)Open QCMA, connect your Vita and transfer the VHBL files as normal. DO NOT CLOSE CONTENT MANAGER YET

4)Unplug your Vita from your PC and into your PS3. Do not tap "Ok" on the error popup until you are safely attached to the PS3. After that, tap "PS3" and then "USB". You should now be able to transfer Toukiden to your Vita. The PS3 automatically activates your Vita for you.

5)Watch the transfer. When the PS3 tries to push the update, DO NOT LET IT! Im not sure what this update does, but considering this game is a demo, it probably just patches the exploit. I got an arror when trying to run VHBL with the update. Better to be safe then sorry.
EDIT: Added a small video, showing step 5.

6)Load up Toukiden. You can't read Japanese? That's fine, all you really have to do is press Start then Circle until VHBL triggers anyways.

-If your Vita cannot verify it's license, something went wrong somewhere. For me, I didn't actually sign into PSN and had to restore my system.
-If you get an error (C1-2858-3)where VHBL is meant to trigger, you may have a corrupted file. In that case, install one of the menus available for VHBL overtop of VHBL's files.

More will be added if I discover/am told anything. Ask for help if you need it or don't understand a part of the instructions.

It's not worth it. If you normally don't have a JP account, and you switch to one on your vita, it's going to be pretty much impossible to sign back into your other account after you've had your fun with VHBL. Not 100% sure, but I think the proxy tricks and stuff for accessing psn on a lower firmware were pached.

Has anyone got any idea how to get the old Toukiden Kiwami Demo? I did this a few hours ago and have just recently realized I have Version 1.01 -_-

LegGuy, you can reactivate your system by transferring any PSP or Vita game or app from your PS3. If it's something with DRM, it'll reactivate the Vita upon install. Thats what allows us to do this at all.

King Clyde, did you make sure to cancel the game updating? It happens right when it finishes transferring. The version that is originally sent to the PS3 is 1.00. Watch the file transfer closely, it has it's own dialogue and doesn't ask for confirmation. My jap account hasn't existed for more than a week, I just downloaded the game today.

I did click the "download in background" button, could this have been what caused such an issue?

It shouldn't. That's what I did!

Delete the game from the Vita, and watch the transfer very carefully. It updates real fast. If it wasn't for my only camera being a PS3 Eye Cam, I'd record the process in it's entirety.

Did you do the trick for not needing to update? Turn off all internet access on your Vita, set QCMA to offline mode. Connect USB to PC, go into Content Manager as if you're transferring a file. Unplug USB from PC, plug into PS3, then close the error message. Then, go into the PS3 side of the content manager and transfer games. If I wasn't so afraid of posting links, I'd add all the guides that could help in.
Also of note: I recorded the file transfer using my Eyecam. It's uploading now.
