Looking for help with editing my VHBL data

Post by Skymin50 » Wed Mar 18, 2015 3:32 pm

I have VHBL installed on 3.36. I used the Patapon 2 exploit, and my VHBL game is UNO.

I have a few homebrew emulators and I want to add more titles to them, but I can't, because there's no delete function in VHBL, so I can't just re-install everything. I tried to set up FTP but I wasn't sure how to get it working since I haven't set up a PSP Wifi yet. Although I didn't try it out much.

How do I find a way to edit my data on VHBL?

And while I'm here - if I get a new memory card, do I have to repeat this process all over to make UNO my exploit game?

Welcome to the forum!

You've got two options here: It appears you have VitaFTP on your Vita already, so all you'd need to do in that case would be start up VitaFTP and wait for it to finish loading. It'll display an IP address (192.168.1.254, for example) along with something about the FTP server being active. Using an FTP client (FileZilla, for example) on the same network as your Vita, type in that IP in the "server field". You *might* be able to get away with using Explorer and typing in ftp:// followed by whatever address your Vita gave, but it may or may not work.

Your other option is to install PSPFiler and use that. Similar to how you installed VitaFTP, put the INSTALL.ZIP file for PSPFiler into the game's savedata, copy it over, and then install it through VHBL. You can then use PSPFiler to edit the VHBL stuff. (they'll be installed in the "VHBL" folder on your memory stick.

In answer to your last question... If you do it correctly you won't have to redo the process. When I upgraded my memory card, I did a full backup of the old card, swapped cards, put the system in Airplane mode, and then did a restore via USB, using OpenCMA on my computer. The reason for airplane mode is to keep the Vita from being on network, which in turn blocks the "update check" to transfer stuff, as typically you need the most recent firmware to even transfer files/savedata.
Always follow *all* steps of the friendly tutorial. They aren't there just as 'guidelines.'
