I just started the gpSP up in a PSP-Emulator, changed the settings there, got them saved and after that installed the gpSP of which I had changed the settings onto my PS Vita.
You could probably do it with a PSP too, I guess this is why it worked for SIP Trysten.

Note that this has to be done for every game you want to save with...
Figured it out after posting the "prepared package"... Don't use that.
