I copied the new files from that zip into the Apache savegame (its only overwrites the eboot) - it loaded but no new menu and some of the installed homebrew stopped working - am i missing something or doing it wrong?
I think you are doing it wrong. Are you using the compatibility fix by Jeoway? yMENU works perfectly for me and i love it. :)
No im using the original Apache release, copy all the files from yMenu-v1.0.7_VHBL to the NPEZ00184PROFILE folder, it overwrites the EBOOT.PHP only and then I copy the SaveGame from the PC to the VITA - menu stays the same though :(

I was going to give you an eboot that makes an extension called vHBL worked on it on SMOKE's request.
Edit: BTW there is no CEF on 2.1x

There could be a private eCFW that someone has so it could be for 2.1x

 Stop proving me wrong, besides I doubt that, cause if they can get private eCFW themselves they can edit the source and do this themselves too.

they all support 2.1X, there's just no public kernel exploit for > 2.02 firmwares
and yes this update isn't much important

you should have done what I did with pyMenu:
- rename ms0:/PSP/GAME to ms0:/PSP/HOMEBREW
- extract archive to ms0:/PSP/HOMEBREW
- rename ms0:/PSP/HOMEBREW back to ms0:/PSP/GAME
I'd do it myself but I had problems compiling yMenu last time I tried

@Acid_Snake found that alone ? .. (no your heard this trick from someone else like the Z right, I actually found it out months ago but w/e)
Anyway this "trick" is not portable for exploits without sceIoRename, so it's best not to do that for VHBL compatibility
Much trouble for nothing, while simply using another name is better
Everyone should stop this "no I don't wanna rename my GAME folder" nonsense ..
