SNES9xTYL

Post by Risk3082 » Mon Mar 26, 2012 6:47 pm

Hello everybody!

I just installed VHBL on Vita and wanted to try some games.
Do you have any idea how to install SNES9xTYL correctly and where to put the roms? I remember doing it on my PSP but it somehow seems to be a little bit different on the Vita...

Don't worry I own all the games I want to put on my Vita..

Extract your Homebrew folder and put your Roms in the Folder "Roms". Now zip all Homebrew files and create the install.zip to install it with vhbl.

This is what I did:
Put the roms you want in the snes9xTYL/ROMS folder on your computer. Then use winzip to make the snes9xTYl folder into install.zip(remember it has to be the same size, don't compress). Then go ahead and download a psp save folder (google one), and put the install.zip into that folder. Then put the psp save folder into the PSAVEDATE/(lots of random numbers) folder on your computer. Now you will have both the HBL save and the PSP save in there. Then connect your vita to the computer and copy the psp save just like you did the HBL save. Then remove the cable and start Everybody'S Tennis on your PSV and load up the HBL. Now find the save folder with the PSP save you just created and install snes9XTYL. Now all the games will lie in the ROMS folder.

Thanks for your response!

Can you maybe give me the download link of your snes9XTYL version?

Use pspfiler
-navigate to the following: ms0:/PSP/SAVEDATA/[yoursnes9xTYLsavefile].DAT/install.zip/snes9xTYL/ROMS
-while the ROMS folder is highlighted hit X then O to copy
-navigate to the following: ms0:/PSP/GAME/snes9xTYL
-while snes9xTYL is highlighted hit △

For some reason vhbl didn't copy all of the roms I put in install.zip so I used this method to copy them over.
Sure I can do that... I just don't know how yet

When I downloaded the emulator i put roms into the install.zip file in the roms folder.

none of them ever showed up, I realized I was using winrar, and when I put roms into the non compressed zip, the roms were compressed but not the other files.
so they never extracted and never showed up in roms.

the way around it for me was to extract snes9x from the install.zip, put roms in there, then right click it, add to archive, compression level to Store, and as a .zip and rename it to install.

extremely clean installs from here on, I have everything renamed too with folder names like Genesis Emulator Gba Emulator etc.

but I wish I could hide... the uhh, other folders ( psp games installed on vita ) thinking of using filler to make a seperate folder and put the installed games in there, would that work? o.O
also changing language to french is fairly annoying, i hope woley does something with that if he gets time.

Homebrew for me so far:

Picodrive: works FLAWLESSLY savestates and everything, it's amazing

gspkai: Most GBA roms work, a few like megaman zero 2 don't ( the other zero games are fine ) that normally work on psp and its full speed as it gets, save stating crashes 80% of the time and ive yet to confirm if you can even save though .sav files at all, im sure its fine but?

snes9x: This one works ok, All im playing is super mario world on this.
Getting full speed wasn't default, setting the sound quallity to 1150 made it go from 51 fps to 60 fps even at lvl 1 with the 9 turtles in a row no other settings change speed from what i tried
but wtf, everytime mario runs full speed there is a weird warp that gives me a headache ( its not that big a deal tho ) and can't be solved without v-sync from what i can tell, witch lags the **** out of the game, im using the all stars version of smw

filler 6.6: awesome, no really, awesome, this things going to come in handy for a long time to come, a file renamer/folder deleter

you can quit back to half byte loader with all 3 emulators

Re: SNES9xTYL-can't get PAR codes to work

Post by jazzgirl1920s » Tue Oct 30, 2012 8:37 pm

I can't get the PAR codes to work. I don't know the right or sequence of buttons to push to get the codes I entered to work.Step by step this is what I do. I load the game in and then press the "home" button to get me to a selection screen. I scroll over to "Cheats" then I highlight "Add a Pro Action Replay Code" I put in the codes and they show up in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Then I highlight "Enable code" and press the "O" button. A ">" appears next to the code. I don't know what to do next to get the code to work. If I press the "O" button again it just returns me to the previous screen. If I press the "X" button it just returns me to the previous screen. If I highlight the option "Enable All Codes" and press the "O" button nothing happens. If I press the "X" button it returns me to the game but the codes are not enabled. It says "changes may require a reload to take effect" so I press the "home" button and that returns me to the cheats screen and "Enable all codes" is still highlighted and I press the "X" button again returning me to the game and the codes still aren't enabled. What I need to know is after I enter in the codes and highlight the "enable all codes" selection what do I press next to get the codes to work?
