The games on Vita aren't really all that expensive so it would be more in my interest to buy the game rather than be able to pirate it without online, trophies etc, and you can always sell the game when you're done with it. It's not a great deal. But if they said "ISO loader to emulate ps2 games" then yeah, I would roll with that.

If the PSV could emulate the PS2, I would buy one in a heart beat. Until then, the PC, PS3 and PSP will remain my gaming platforms.

...or screw us over by having Sony really go anal and actually bother to look through all the games for vuneralbilties, or you end up getting a game pulled that could have been used.

Thinking selfishly never solves anything.

I for one think it would be fun to see Sony remove some valuable games just because of a prank. I wish I could announce an exploit in one of their best selling Vita title, without also tricking people who actually would buy it only for the hack...of course that's impossible but...

Hmmm, april 1st is coming though....
I have a few US PSN codes to sell for a reasonable price (cheaper than pcgamesupply). PM me if interested, 1st come 1st serve basis..

Heh, I wasn't worrying about Sony. Moreso for the end-user, though they would lose money it would also mess with the consumer due to Sony pulling the game and if users like the actual game itself along with vHBL. They would not be able to play it till Sony puts it back up.

So while it would hurt Sony if it happens, I just feel we'll be hurt more by it.

*edit*

I feel I should clarify myself and say, do we really need any more of Sony's protection?

i.e. That stick up the vita's ***

I don't really like the fact that everyone here treats Sony like the enemy. They're the ones that made this great system. They've obviously gone through a lot of trouble to keep the system hack free, which in my mind IS a good thing. Imagine if the PS Vita was as easy to hack as the PSP and had custom firmware and ISO loaders running from day one. There would be half as many companies developing Vita games because the other half would be afraid of how much piracy could cut into their profits. We'd basically have a super expensive PSP with a slightly prettier screen to play PSP games and emulators on.

I've stated it before, but I think the point we're at with Vita hacking is a good equilibrium. We have enough customization to run many emulators and homebrew apps without scaring potential Vita game developers away with current-gen piracy.

I have a better idea, when the new VHBL game name gets release, make it so that to get the name you have to click a link that says "I agree to the terms and conditions" with a link to a long eula that no one will ever look at. In the middle of the agreement have a clause that states something like "if I work for Sony or any of it's subsidiaries, I certify under penalty of law that I am acting as an authorized representative of Sony and hereby grant unlimited and perpetual rights for all users of our products worldwide to hack them in any way they want irrespective of any other agreements and statements made now or in the future by Sony." (or something else equally onerous). Then track the IPs of those who click the I agree link, then if any are registered to Sony post the log of them accessing it with the headline "Sony agrees to let hackers hack!" or whatever.

Check mate!

Also, I'm super excited about that hack you PM'd me about that only works on the US version of [ADMIN EDIT: REMOVED] granting full root control over the Vita. I assume you'll be releasing that one in about a week and a half?
