Go tell that to hundreds of years of protectionism... Companies like Sony love globalization when it means they can produce their devices for cheap in China... they like it less when it means their customers should get lower prices independently of the country they live in. Ever wondered why you pay a different price for your games, music, movies, and your consoles depending on the country you live in? And yet, it doesn't cost Sony a different price to produce...
This is what I like to call the "one way globalization"... a win win situation for Sony, they lower their costs, but don't lower the price you pay, by maintaining artificial regional barriers. Oh, and they'll always try to justify this with regional contracts with partners, local regulations, etc...
