Same problem here, also Doom legacy doesnt play the mp3's.
On the other hand i tried PSP-Quake 1 (on the motorstorm exploit) wich also makes use of mp3 and here it works perfect!

TheCobra's unofficial VHBL R154-TC for Super Collapse 3 fixed the "select" crashing issue for me with SegaCD emulation and for Megadrive/Genesis (Thank you!). I only have one outstanding issue with SegaCD: The background music (MP3 files) do not seem to play. I have been playing Shining Force CD and selecting options and moving around makes the right sounds, but no background music. Strange....

A couple things everyone needs to do in the "Change Options" area to get this to PicoDrive to work mint:

1) Change sounds quality to "44100Hz stero" - then click on "Save cfg as default" - This fixes MegaDrive/Genesis and probably SegaCD sounds issues (except for SegaCD backgroung music as I mention above).
2) Go to "Sega/Mega CD Options" and and turn "Better sync (slow)" to "ON" - This will fix SegaCD roms from crashing when you try to start them.

I think these couple of things should fix most people's issues. If anyone has a fix for SegaCD background MP3 music please let me know.

Took me a while to figure it out but when adding roms to the install.zip make sure you choose "store", any compression and the files will not end up on the Vita.... or at least that is what happened to me. All sorted now though.

I have Sega CD background music Working now. As well as sound effects. Using bin2cso through command line you convert the game with options to make WAV audio and ISO data. You put all the files made from the bin/cue into picodrive/rom folder. Confirmed working on Heart of the Alien with excellent sounds. I messed with a ton of setting for hours and I may be forgetting a step, however, now all background music and sfx seem perfect. Only tested on this one game as its the only one I could find atm. If this has already been posted, I couldn't find the answer, Seems all posts just had SFX working, not background music.

Do you also need to create a folder with the correct BIOS along with the ROMS?

You just need the Sega CD bios in the folder's root. (the Emulator folder)
