Lost and confused: Getting the SNES emulator after Henkaku?

Post by Kanou-0828 » Mon Aug 29, 2016 7:03 am

Alright, I've spent the last couple hours on this (Had to hack and update my system to the required 3.60) and I've hit a snag. I have HENKaku installed and it seems to run smoothly. I can see my Vita on filezilla on my pc and have been able to transfer files and then see them on the molecular shell app on my Vita.

Here's my issue. I downloaded the recommended file by wololo, (SNES9xTYL v 0.42) unzipped it, and so on. And I cannot for the life of me get to the point of installing the emulator. Am I transferring the wrong files, did I miss a step? Maybe I'm just tired *laughs* Regardless, I would really appreciate any help in this matter. I've gotten this far, I don't want to give up now.

once you get the vpk file of the homebrew you want to install, transfer that over using molecular shell to the folder where you keep your brew. stay in molecular shell, exit ftp mode and then go to where you put that vpk file. highlight it and press X. it will ask you if you want to install. select yes. you might get a popup saying that the homebrew isnt safe or whatever. this is a new feature so most homebrew are not updated yet.

i also recommend getting snes9x2005 or snes9x2005_plus from retroarch and use that instead. you might also want to use retroarch for all your emulating needs. viewtopic.php?f=116&t=46266 doom, snes, nes, genesis, gb, mame, cave story, etc. most of that stuff from the showcase is old at this point
-always use the search function before asking and if you receive help from anyone, say thanks and remember to pay it forward.
