[Homebrew idea] Homebrew browser/downloader

Post by xyler » Thu Aug 18, 2016 1:18 am

I remember that a few years back a homebrew download app for the wii was released. This app was called "Wii homebrew browser" iirc. It worked pretty good. It showed a database of the most populair homebrew and gave the option to download and install them. I my self have no idea how to make such an app, but I think that it could really help the ps vita homebrew scene if a "app store" was made.

Who needs a homebrew browser on the Vita, when we have the option to put apps into folders, such as 'Homebrew' & 'Games'. It could be possible to create an app down the line in the future that does show the most popular homebrew downloaded and an option to download them yourself in the app, but I see that we'll probably be getting "most popular" lists here on Wololo, like we usually do. Right now, HENkaku is still in early development, so I see more potential in something like this as time goes by.
The homebrew browser on the wii is quite unique on that platform. I'm not too sure it'll be entirely necessary on the Vita, but it's a nice idea. It would be cool to see something like this on the Vita when we see more awesome homebrew being released that really pushes the hardware.
