was there a vita hack that allowed remote play on PS3

for the PS3 i mean any game other then the 18 games that were on the list? i read somewhere there is such a thing. and i'm wonder if it could be added to HENkaku?

I honestly think this is a limitation on the PS3s side, not to do with the PS Vita, maybe if the PS3 scene got a latest OFW hack for all models we might see this being a thing where all games can be streamed to it, personally I would absolutely love to play some of my PS2 classics or Kingdom Hearts on my Vita console whilst I'm away or whatever.

There was no hack on the Vita side. The games that the PS3 allows to be remote played is entirely decided by the PS3. CFW can fully enable remote play for virtually all PS3 games. But from what I've seen, you need the latest PS3 firmware to enable remote play, unless your Vita and PS3 are on older firmwares that are from the same time period. I have not used remote play since 2012, so I wouldn't know how to get this setup correctly. Wait a couple of days, I'm sure somebody in this community knows how to get it all running.

Not to get too far off topic, but as far as I know remote play is enabled by default when installing a new CFW. At least this is the case for Rebug. But to keep this on topic, even though it's been answered, unfortunately checks are PS3 side. Need either an ODDE or a jailbroken console for full(ish) compatibility.

Only the PS4 checks the firmwares afaik.

The best part about PS3 Remote Play on CFW, both your Vita and PS3 don't have to be signed in to PSN to use the app. All you have to do is click connect on private network and you're good to go. I can confirm this on FW 3.52.
