playing PSP games on VITA

Post by .nina. » Tue Sep 16, 2014 3:27 pm

I feel really dumb, 'cause i'm usually pretty good at these things.
I'm trying to specifically play type 0 on my vita.
I have the folder with my GLADIATOR BEGINS exploit etc. I have learned how to add EBOOT.pbp files for homebrew etc, but the ISO stuff is still eluding me.

I have my TYPE0.iso in the folder with my gladiator begins exploit. The folder went from being 43mb to like 2.5 gigs. It all transferred, but when I load the FILER program and map to save data, I can see everything (including the eboot.pbp), but I can't see the .ISO file.

what directory do ISO files go in? And, what directory do .PKG files go into?

Thanks in advance!

I loaded it as "TYPE0.ISO". Make sure even the .ISO is in CAPS. You'll notice all other files in the save directory follow that convention as well.

This is important the file extension (.ISO) also has to be caps

As for .pkgs you need to use QCMA, and put them in the PSV Package Folder

You can try to install VitaFTP and so transfer the ISO via FTP connection.

Hm ususaly you put the iso in you savegame, copy it with CMA just like you did (the filesize tells, that the iso is included)
When everything is done, you have to go to "Games > Memory Card" and the Game should show up. Now you have to highlight the game, press triangle and select install to have the Iso copied from the savefiles to "ms0:\ISO" folder.

BTW: once TN-V is installed, you can delete 660.PBP from your savefile. Save yourself some space for other stuff :)

Rinnegatamante
alright, thanks for that. I got the FTP working. Says it'll be an hour and a half...which is fine (as long as it does it).

ErnieBall
agreed. All the tutorials I watched/read said the same thing. It didn't appear on my GAME menu. But, seems like FTP is working.
looks like I'll be ordering a 64gig chip soon.

on a regular PSP, an ISO/CSO file would go into the ISO folder on the root of the memory stick. Does the same apply to the VITA? I've put the ISO in the X:/ISO folder and it didn't appear in the GAMES menu. I put it in X:/game folder, but still nothing showed up.

what's the directory?

I can't just copy it using the PSPfiler6 'cause my memory is apparently all used up. So, I gotta wirelessly transfer it with FTP, which takes a while.

any feedback? Thanks!

It goes in the X:/ISO folder like it did on the PSP

ALSO in the future you can screenshots on the vita by holding the PS button and start :)

FInally when transfering to the Vita via FTP make sure your client (which if I were to be was filezillia) is set to transfer only ONE file at a time.

I create an ISO folder in "PSP" and put TYPE0.ISO in it (I also had an ISO folder in "game", but that didn't work)
Image

all that shows up is a corrupt data folder
Image

(and I can't take screen shots in the PSP emulator using the PS button and start)
Image

TYPE0 appears as lower case .iso
I can't change the name on my computer to TYPE0.ISO because it then appears as; TYPE0.ISO.ISO
I tried to use PSPfiler6 to rename the file and uppercase the ISO, but it didn't change anything, it still looks like lower case .iso, and the file still says corrupt under the game directory.
