Save states and DaedalusX64 R777

Post by naynada »

Is it possible for us to create save states as we play DaedalusX64?

I've been searching around /talk and the Daedalus forums but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

The closest I've got is:

"L + R + Start" exits the game (not suitable)
"L + R + Select" to open menu (doesn't work)

I don't mean loading save states from Project64, I mean creating and loading savestates on our Vita, just like in gpSP, EmuMaster and SnesTYL.

Any ideas?

By pressing HOME you should be able to open up the emulator menu. There you will find an option to save and load states.

Thanks for the reply qwikrazor87.

What is the equivalent HOME button on the Vita?

I'm sorry but I wouldn't know since I don't own a Vita.

there is non

the way I have seen that replicates the "Home" button would be touching and holding on the screen
when the normal options show up so will the menu for the emu, just like if you would have pressed the Home button

I dont know of this is the case when running it trough HBL tho

Thanks guys.

Yes you are correct fate6, to activate the save state menu, when in game:

- long press the touchscreen
- close the PSP emulator options
- voila, save state menu pops up!

EDIT: Looks like I spoke too soon.

I'm playing Super Mario 64, and tried to save the state (tried multiple slots).

It briefly says "Saving", however when you go to load a state, all the slots say "Empty".

Have you encountered this?

EDIT 2:

I fixed it! Creating and loading savestates works!

Use PSPlorer and create the following directory "ms0:/n64/SaveStates"

Your save states will now be saved there. For some reason, savestates don't seem to be able to write to the default folder: ms0:/PSP/GAME/DaedalusX64R777/SaveStates

Might be a read/write permission error, but with the available homebrews I'm not sure how to correct that.

You should goto the official daedalus site to check on game compatibility before sending it to the vita, or psp. Resident Evil 2 doesnt work.
Resident Evil 2 (E) (M2) [!]
PSP 1001 5.00M33-6 716 No No 21 N/A

The game seems to boot, but just stays on a black screen while the fps changes.

Resident Evil 2 (U) [!]
PSP 1001 6.39 PROB-9 736 No No 10 N/A

It seems to boot, but just displays a black screen while the fps changes.

The compatibility is a bit better for r777 but most games that never booted, still dont boot. The page itself has instruction on how to setup daedalus for some troublesome games, resident evil 2 is listed under NOT Playable, and Serious Error.
