Extract Backups?

Re: Extract Backups?

I have been doing this all day too. Something like it.

At first I used my save data to replace the param.sfo in the replica folders I created.

I also used the ULUS code [Monster Hunter] as the main foilder name, used the icon0 image as well. Here is a brief catch up:

(Documents/where ever CMA saves this)/PS Vita/PGAME/aXXXX/ULUS10391

THAT is specifically for the monster hunter game.

The other folders under that are
/game
/sce_sys
/license

I took LICENSE the files from Orbit, a game I got on Play$tation Plu$ and used it works, otherwise, when I changed them, an error code. The param.sfo and icn0.png go in SCE_SYS and that is fine as well. I also replaced them with the ones extracted from the ISO image of Monster Hunter, just to be sure.

Now here is where I am getting hell, I BELIEVE the psvimg file is the same as DATA.BIN in an iso. It seems that is where the bulk of the game is.

THE PROBLEM: I have no idea what to exchange for the psvmd file in the game folder! I have tried eboot, boot, that at3 file, and even the param.sfo again, of course renaming them.

I go to copy it, it reads monster hunter, has the icon and size correct, then I get an error about how it cannot copy.

Someone who has already purchased a digital copy could send me that psvmd image for me to keep trying, please? Or try themselves. i feel I am close because it goes through the first "Copy" screen before I get an error. Anybody?
I also used the UMD_DATA.bin to replace the psvmd image and to no avail.

    1. dont double post

    2. you can place the param.sfo of any game in any other game and it will say its what ever the param.sfo says
    (same for Icon0)

    3. sending you the game would be piracy

in fact you can edit param.sfo to say what ever you want, heck I could make one that says I have Halo 2 on the Vita
(that includes the folder it looks for) <=== check the VHBL homebrew link in my sig for examples

No no no, I OWN the game. I own two copies actually, but not a digital.

I edited, I don't know why it shows a double post.

And I just need the game.psvmd FROM a digital copy to make sure I am in the right direction. I have a backup of the game myself to try it as well.

if you did not buy a digital copy of the game then you do not have the licence to it ;)
(that means you dont have the right to have it)

also you seem to be forgetting that you would still need the licence on your profile since without it the game wont start

Bah! Damn them! But no, just an attempt. If anyone who HAS a digital copy wants to try, be my guest then.

And when I change the license, or remove it, I get an error, but when I have it there from another game, it doesn't seem to stop. I click copy and it goes as if to copy, then loads, and after gives me an error, here is the most recent one:

C0-11274-5

I also some times get the same, but -4 at the end and this one once before:

C2-12858-4

hmm I think it might just be that once it checks the licence and sees its not the right game then it just stops
or maby the .psvimg's are encrypted on a "per-vita" basis which would mean that you simply cant use a back up that is not made with the specific Vita that made it

but mhee
keep trying tho you never know what you might find ;)

Davee wrote:It is, but the crypto is done on the vita, not in the PC app.

so you think the Vita side CMA is encrypting decrypting, letting the ms contain unencrypted data ?
that'd be kinda weird no, I mean not very secure if someone manages to read the ms

@wth, a think the PSVita MS are Encrypted per console and have a specific Encrypted File System like the PS3 HDD.
So its very more secure than you think ;)

@Zer01ne ah so the PSVita would be decrypting files from MS to reencrypt them through Vita CMA ? xD
I think it's just copying already encrypted files from MS to pc no
