Well it is possible with the server trick that the Vita thinks the installed firmware is the newest, so why shouldnt it be possible to install a higher firmware, than the installed one? Afaik it is possible.

Of course it would work the way you described it, but this requires that the firmware that you want to install is a higher version than the one that is installed. And in this certain case he asked if its possible to install 1.60 on a 1.66 Vita.

His Vita is ATM on firmware 1.66? Well okay downgrading isnt possible with this trick.
I thought his firmware would be below 1.61, so i thought he can use the trick to update it to 1.61 instead of 1.66.

He probably is on 1.61 now. I just took 1.66 as an example but this doesn't change anything as he wants to install 1.60 which is still lower than 1.61.

But maybe he is even below 1.61 so it would be possible as you said.

In german because its our native language and so its easier for us to give detailed explanations of what we mean and english because other people may also want to understand what we are talking about ;)

Maybe because I'm a good english speaker and can translate nearly everything into english? :P Jokes beside.

To install 1.61 for example you would need three different images and I'm not quite sure if you will be able to get all of them. At least thats what I can read out of the update XML file.

meh i'll probably just update my vita normally and return my Everybodys Golf, and put the money in Gw2 instead........
seems like too much trouble, and there isn't really any decent stuff out there for it yet.
the second you get it up and running with ISO loaders and such, I'll be there.
