Shady Moves Motorstrom RC

Post by tvtheet » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:03 pm

Ok maybe this is a move to confuse people to hide the fact Vita was hacked but its shady regardless. Upon downloading the demo, I noticed that the game minimizes to log you in to psn network. During this process is there a way to load unsigned apps/games since it has already bypassed the secuirty. Also if they release the full version game the demo would be removed...there maybe something there? THIS IS A MOTORSTORM game after all. Someone should look deeper into this game. Kernel exploit maybe?

On the PSP, the sign in process is similar. The game is effectively paused until the PSN sign in is complete.

No security has been bypassed here.

Being a Motorstorm game doesn't guarantee there's an exploit in it.

Chances for a kernel exploit in a commercial game are barely above 0%. Games are usermode, and going kernel mode on the PSP included exploiting a part of the firmware itself, not a game exploit. A user mode exploit is indeed required to run the kernel mode on.

No. VHBL runs via the PSP emulator for now, and is only provided with a file structure similar to that of the PSP (ms0: mostly, and has access to flash0 fonts). This is a virtual filesystem if I understand it correctly, and afaik, VHBL doesn't have direct access to the memory card.
