Help me mod Lamecraft.

Sorry for the second thread, but no one was replying to my other one so, I want to add more blocks to my Lamecraft mod, but I'm stuck on the texture part in blocks.cpp, there's a thing called upPlane and downPlane and I don't know what to do, HELP! Explain me what does the upPlane and downPlane do, please!
