real minecraft on psp?

Post by becky321 » Sun Sep 02, 2012 9:20 am

minecraft portable is written in java so cannot run on the psp, but the xbox edition is written in c++ could that be emulated or converted with some downscaling and button mapping?

the Xbox port is in C# if I recall and I highly doubt the PSP could handle it

you seem to be forgetting something very important, minecraft is closed source ;)
and no since even if both are in the same language they are still coded differently

but i heard minecraft was going to be made open source when finished, also if one was to have access to the code you could write it from new, but more compact

I believe it was Notch that said when the PC Minecraft is done and no more official development is going to happen then the it would be made open source

I can assure you %100 that M$ will not let its version of Minecraft go that route
it would be nice but the PSP just cant handle it just look at the latest lamecraft cause its already pushing it >___<,
now the Vita is a different case ;)

Full minecraft on the PSP (aka client + server) = no
Just a clone of the minecraft client = yes

well, i heard, you can pretty much emulate everything on the PSP
the only problem is, you're gona have a *** frame-rate. like less then 1 frame per second, maybe even less -.-'
that's why drakon made a simpeler game, like lamecraft, so that the psp can handle it.
