I need an addictive Vita game to play!

Post by Stiffeno » Sun Jul 19, 2015 8:26 am

So I recently got myself another PS Vita after having sold mine a LONG time ago, and now I need a game to fill in my spare time.

I would like a few suggestions from other members, the more addictive the game the better!

Anyway here is the kinda game im after:

Something sort of like Monster Hunter or Diablo 3, something where I can level up characters, find loot and craft items/weapons/armour and use them on the character!
I was a long time player of World of Warcraft some since I burned myself out on that game, I need something new...and on the go, something to play in bed or on the bus each day!

A dungeon crawler would be best, something where I can go in, fight my way through mobs, collecting loot and such as I go, possibly fighting bosses at the end! That kind of thing! Something addictive, not a game that ill finish in a week! Must have good replay-ability!

I only own on my Vita FIFA Football, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention (not that into that one) and Real Boxing!

If the game you suggest is a Japanese game like a JRPG or whatever, it must have an English version as I cant read Japanese! And not a really crappy translation like ive heard some games have lol.

I dont mind if its an online game like an MMO or something, but id prefer if a lot of the game can be played in single player/offline.
Dungeon Hunter: Alliance looked very promising, but I heard it got bad reviews =/.

Ok well thanks in advance guys and gals!

The games that come to my mind are Soul Sacrifice (Delta), Toukiden (Kiwami) and Freedom Wars. Roughly speaking, they are hunting games with different settings - dark fantasy, japanese folklore and post apocalyptic world respectively.

Gameplay is in 3rd person perspective as opposed to top-down isometric in Diablo 3 or Dungeon Hunter. You can play all of them in single player.

For me, there is a fine line between the replay value and repetitive gameplay. I can't say much in this aspect except all of them having something to come back for e.g. in-game choices, using different weapons, loots or simply for the greater good in multiplayer sessions.

If the games seem equally interesting, my lazy suggestion is choosing a hunting game based on its setting. You know the feeling when you see the loots and think "Cool!", don't you?

'Delta' and 'Kiwami' are the upgraded versions, but you may want to grab demos of original Soul Sacrifice and Toukiden from the store first.

Have fun and enjoy the loots! ;)

Persona 4 Golden. You can easily put a couple hundred hours into that game, for a portable console that's pretty nice.

(ANIME GAME WARNING) I'd suggest Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 (an improvement over the PS3 version) It's a RPG set a world based off of the seventh-generation console wars, with nearly anything and everything a reference to a video game or a developer. The battle system tries something new by letting you control your team of three characters in a sectioned-off arena to moving them before they attack to deal additional damage, avoid having yor whole party being hit by an attack, etc. Loot hunting comes in the form of "pinging" the overworld for chests. Pocket Gamer has a great review on the game, check them out if you can.
