Motorstorm RC Vita No longer FREE?

When I bought the Vita when it first came out this game was available for free and then there was a bunch of free extras. Afew years later and I own a VITA again, I went to get this game and now you gotta buy it. I checked my downloads and all the free stuff I downloaded is still there but not the game. What gives?

Man that was years ago! But if you did download it back in 2011 when it was free then it should be somewhere in your downloads.

Its named differently then the one you can buy iirc but its the same game.

I agree with fate6, that was a good couple of years ago.

I remember I downloaded it even when I didn't have the VITA, but since I sold my PS3 with my account, I finished buying the complete edtion (which for $2 bucks, is a steal).
I think the ultimate edition is $10 (don't be cheap and buy the normal one for $5, buying the DLC later will cost you A LOT. Like +$50)

I have it way far back in my downloads list. It is called Motorstorm presented By Scion. This is the one that was free back then. I have it backed up to my PC via CMA ( I did that with every title in my download list when PSN still worked on 3.36 vita.) It still works just fine and is a full game although you have the option to buy a few ADDONS via IAP. I really like the game. It is like a super version of RC Pro AM on NES.

Are you sure this game was ever free? coz I just checked my downloads list and I had this game on it, and it was dated early 2012, and it was just a demo =/

I am positive. It was a deal Sony did when the Scion cars were being produced. I have several different Motorstorms in my download list but the one that says Motorstorm Presented by Scion is more than a demo. It isnt the complete game due to more IAP but it is more than a demo.

It has been some time but I could have sworn it was the same base game minus all DLC since at that time there was none. Other than the payed extra cars tho it should all be there.

So what you're saying is that it was a Freemium game? Hm, not a bad idea from Sony.

A while back EA offerred free full games for PS3, PS4 and Vita so I got all of them even though I might not play them. Minecraft was glitchy on the store so it was another free full game as well as Fez.

The only three games I'm interested are; Mirror's Edge (PS3) - already played before, Most Wanted (Vita) - have the superior console version on Wii U and Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (PS4) - looking forward to actually playing it when I purchase my PS4 (not any time soon since the library still needs to grow more).

I should rephrase that, The game itself was 100% the same as the regular paid version that was released after the free version was taken down.

The reason it was free was because Scion was sponsoring it to advertize their new car at the time via it being in the title and the car being on the loading screens and menu.

In fact the free version might actually be better since it includes one extra car that is the one Scion was advertizing, the DLC cars tho are for both versions of the game.

I just checked and I did download it but it was the PS3 demo, ah well, no biggie. I prefer Micro Machines 2 instead anyway.
