Phantasy Star Nova - what required firmware?

Tempted to buy this (Japanese), but have no idea if it will work on my 3.18 machine.

Can anybody confirm if it requires a firmware update?

That's definately incorrect because I'm running the demo on my 3.18 console right now.

EDIT - Oh I see, it's a new demo.

Sorry to necro, but I figured I'd answer my own question just in case anybody else searches for an answer.

The game requires fw3.30. I am running 3.18 and have no intention to update, so I'm left with an unplayable game. Luckily I bought it for cheap.
